Lama Ngakmo Gyalmo

  • Staff

Ngakmo Gyalmo (Kathleen Levac) was ordained by Domo Geshe Rinpoche on August 4, 2015, a significant milestone that reflects her deep commitment to the spiritual path. Her journey as a lama in training began in 2008, and over the years, this role has profoundly deepened her dedication to the teachings of the Dharma and the community she serves. As the Executive Director of White Conch Dharma Center since 2012, Ngakmo Gyalmo has been instrumental in guiding the organization’s mission, ensuring that the transformative wisdom of the Dharma is shared with all who seek it.

Her spiritual path began long before her ordination, as she became a devoted student of Rinpoche in 2004. Residing near the tranquil Lotus Lake Retreat Center in central Wisconsin, Ngakmo Gyalmo is actively involved in supporting the activities of both Lotus Lake and Joyful Path Healing Center. She embodies the principles of compassion, service, and spiritual growth in all aspects of her life.

Before embracing her role as a lama, Kathleen Levac had a distinguished nearly 40-year career as a registered nurse, earning her MS degree and focusing on improving healthcare systems and individual wellness, particularly for older adults, fragile seniors, and people with disabilities. As the founder of Health and Wellness Enterprises LLC, she skillfully blends Eastern and Western health strategies to enhance body, mind, and spirit. A certified medical qigong therapist and Level 3 Advanced Qigong Instructor, Kathy is also a respected author and national speaker, teaching Tai Chi/Qigong and the Practical Buddhist Wisdom series at Joyful Path.
