Lhakpa Kipu (LhaKipu)

  • Staff

LhaKipu (Sarah Blake) is a compassionate Hospice Social Worker at Agrace, where she supports individuals and families during the end-of-life journey with a heart-centered approach. Her work blends mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and nonviolent communication, offering a nurturing presence during this profound transition.

Sarah’s previous role as an Information and Assistance Specialist at ADRC of Southwest Wisconsin involved helping families navigate aging and disability services. Her commitment to accessible care was evident in her work as a Teacher and Board Member at YogAutism, where she specialized in nervous system downregulation techniques, making yoga accessible to individuals with diverse needs. As a Yoga Teacher, Sarah focuses on mind-body techniques for trauma communities, incorporating yoga therapy into her roles at Joyful Path Healing Center. Here, she leads transformative sessions in yoga, meditation, and stress reduction, offering adaptive practices tailored to individual needs.

With over a decade of Buddhist meditation practice, Sarah’s background in meditation and yoga deepens her ability to provide empathetic, supportive care. Her advocacy extends to women and children affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse, demonstrating her commitment to holistic care and social justice. Her involvement in labor organizing further underscores her dedication to community support and equity.

Influenced by her Christian and Quaker upbringing, Sarah values community and connection, often expressed through cooking and table fellowship. Her passion for music finds an outlet as an amateur musician. Sarah holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, complemented by a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Women’s Studies, and a Certificate in LGBT Studies, providing a robust foundation for her holistic practice
